2012 Junior Competition - 29th July

The junior competition this year is to be held on Sunday 29th July and is open to juniors up to the age of 18yrs. The junior(s) do not need to hold club membership but the accompanying adult does.

The draw will be made at 9-00a.m., with the fishing between 10-00a.m.and 1-00p.m.

Yes, its that time of year again were all keen club members come along to the Swanwick lakes on a couple of Sunday mornings during January and February, giving up a few hours of their spare time. In return not only do they get many numerous days of enjoyment angling in pleasant surroundings over the coming months but reduced membership costs and even the chance to get free membership for the year! No-one is asked to do anything that they are not capable of so regardless of your skills why not come along to help and maybe get some tips and latest swim info. Hot refreshments are provided free during the morning by our friendly Water Management team so why not come along around 8-00a.m. and support your club. Overnight Fishing Event - 31 Aug/1 Sept.

Due to the last events popularity and success another overnight fishing event is being organised for the evening of Friday 31st August. The draw for the swims will take place at 6-00pm with the actual fishing being between 7-00pm and noon on the Saturday. There will be two interim weigh-ins during the match with a final weigh-in taking place at the end (this is so that the fish are not held in the keepnets for too prolonged a period), two keepnets per angler will be required. This will be on a first-come first-served basis with £20 entry fee (£100 1st place). Anyone wishing to participate and/or obtain more information should contact Gary Pickin on 07717 825041.

The match rules are

     1. Only carp count in results, all other species of fish will not be included in match results.

     2. Only one rod per angler to be used at a time.

     3. If surface fishing then only a single surface bait on hook is allowed. No free offerings to

         be used - anyone caught will be disqualified from the match.

Google Chrome Issues - Members Area

There is a known issue with certain versions of the Google Chrome browser and password protected web pages. Previously when members tried to access the members area of the updated site they were presented with a blank page and had change the browser to Internet Explorer to view the pages. I have modified the website to take the issue into account until the situation is resolved by either Google or the internet software houses.

Guest Day Tickets 2013 .

Please note that the 2013 guest day tickets are only available from the designated committee members, enabling members guests (with the sponsoring member) to fish the complex and commence Sunday 1 April . See members area for details.

Restricted Angling at Swanwick during January/February 2013.

Please check with Head Bailiff  for authorisation well beforehand for access to fishing on lakes over this period. There will be restricted fishing for up to 6 anglers on certain of Bens swims only - all other lakes are closed!! Random checks will be made by bailiffs to ensure this is adhered to by all.

For the matches in November we are going to trial a new system of allocating the peg numbers. Instead of anglers drawing the actual peg number they will instead draw out the order in which they can choose their own peg. This will mean that the person drawing no. 1 will have the first choice of their peg on the lake being fished and the person drawing no. 2 will have the second choice of their peg on the lake ect.

The A.G.M. for 2016 is being held at Park Gate R.B.L. on Wednesday 13th January starting at 8-00pm.

All motions to be put forward at the AGM are to be sent to the Club Secretary or another Committee member in writing by no later than 13th December 2015.

There will be a list of nominations for committee posted at the legion by the 13th December 2015.
